Wells fargo auto what a joke

I got an auto loan with Wells Fargo on Easley SC. For a 2018 Nissan Rogue.

I purchased the car last January 2021. My cousin cosigned for me. She passed away in March 2022. I sent a cashier check for the full payoff.

Then suddenly come may after my cousin had passed away. They started sending out past due letters to her address and calling me 5 times a day trying to say I was behind on payments. Even though my bank statement showed they got the money. I got the paperwork in saying paid in full .

her name removed from the loan.. They started saying they never received the money. Even though I faxed them proof. Then night before last they had their recovery company sneak out and steal my car in the middle of the night.

I have being on phone with them numerous departments trying to locate it do at least I can get my personal stuff and the car and I have being given the run around and told to call back. Then when I went today to the recovery lot to get my car and personal items they wouldn't let me go in without them getting my FOB. when I explained to the woman the car is stolen she goes not our problem you deal with the bank we only get what they sent us out after

Well here I go again. Wells Fargo an employee name Corina, sweet girl was trying to work with me to get my car back. I told her my attorney and I would agree to try to stop payment on that cashiers check and sent out another one if my car was returned today or by Tuesday. She tried to help me do that but the redemption dept said no!

They want more money now. I called them and the girl was so rude kept telling me she wanted over 18000 now before they would give back the car because they didn't receive the money and I go my bank statement shows you did. She felt out refused to work with me to give back my car even though I had proof it was paid off and everything. So now they are going to be taking my car to the auction to auction it off for whatever they can get out of it.

I told her she would be hearing from my attorney for a major lawsuit.

They don't care, they have being caught setting up false bank account to steal peoples money plus numerous other law suits against them. Its all over the internet on how many times they are being sued and here comes them another one.

The worst

Just not professional people to deal with at any level. When trying to resolve issue they said they would ruin my life and come after me and my annuities to get paid.

Car was stolen told by WFDS they were going to retrieve. Never did or notify me that their intent changed. Paid on it another 16 months till DMV who I had contacted to investigate said they were not answering their inquiries. 3 months after I stopped payments they decided to repo?

Came to the house told them where they left it at impound. Called they took 6 days to figure out their mistake that they never retrieved vehicle . Was listed in credit as missed 180 days then repo then charge off. If was repo under Ohio state law never sent a default letter .

Obliviously never a repo and buried claim. Learned later I had right to retrieve car . Fully insured with GAP insurance till I stopped payments.

At any time they could have resolved from start by not burring their head and admit they made the mistakes. Heard stories later of similar cases and actually ran into someone who claimed they did similar to them and never addressed issue responsibly

Okay I find it insanely hard to believe that you were told by someone at Wells Fargo that they would RUIN YOUR LIFE and come after you. If someone did in fact say that, then you should have called WF , made a complaint that agent "who ever" stated they would ruin your life if you didn't pay.

Do you know who it was you spoke to that actually said that? Do you remember day and time because all calls at WF are recorded so they can absolutely go back and review the call. If your vehicle was stolen, did you file a police report? WF will NOT search for your car if it was stolen nor are they responsible for informing the ins co or police. Its not their job to do that; if you didn't report it to the police or let your insurance company know, it does not matter if you don't physically have the vehicle, you are still responsible to make those payments until either at a ZERO balance OR again if you filed a report and a claim to your ins Co, the ins Co will kick in and typically they will pay it off in full and if not full amount, that's when the Gap ins comes in.

So assuming you did all that with making a report and putting a claim in to your ins Co, if the loan was "paid off early" you would have received a refund for the GAP ins depending on how far you were into the loan, is how they determine the specific amnt to give back to you for the GAP ins. Also if you had any service warranties on the loan, the dealership where you got the vehicle at, you would have had to notify them as well and you would have received a refund BUT it could also be applied to your loan which means the amnt left on the loan would decrease by what ever amnt the service warranty was.

I realize this complaint is submitted a year or 2 ago but i still wanted to comment. A lot of people think that because they don't have the vehicle in their possession, that they don't need to pay the monthly payments, you still have to.

Buyer Beware

Missed payment posted to both co-signer and account holder - But was it explained to ask for a deferment vs. A "Promise to Pay"?

My daughter has made all her payments and the one payment she missed, she thought she was exempt from after a conversation with a Wells Fargo Rep in November, but apparently, she had to ask specifically ask for a "deferment." You have to know to ask.

I was not on the phone and this issue is now effecting both credit files, EVENTHOUGH, the car was paid in full 30 days later, WELLS FARGO will not budge. Buyers, look for creditors that will work with you and explain to young adults ALL OF THEIR Options.

Pros:
  • Ease of financing
  • Easy to get a loan

  • Customer service which does not explain all options
  • Interest rate

Preferred solution: Remove the missed payment from both credit bureau accounts.

Horrible customer service

I called to speak to a representative and when someone finally answered, she was talking to people in the background using profanities. I kept saying hello but she never responded to me.

She just kept talking to whoever was there. Waste of my time!

Car payoff

The customer service rep that I spoke to was very helpful. I'm just anxious to get my car paid off with you guys because this has been like going on for over a month.

You lost a check so now they're resending you a new check and I'm hoping that it goes through but for some reason I don't feel too optimistic about that. I

Compliment an employee of Wells Fargo

I am a retired Air Force General officer, and the former President and CEO of two global billion dollar companies (ITT WorldCom and Interdigital) I believe I am qualified to render an opinion about a Wells Fargo employee whom I judge to have great managerial potential.

This employee, Claudia Rodriguez, is employed at your Murphy, Texas branch office. She is smart, personable extremely intelligent and most important; gets the job done.

Despite the fact that I caused most of the problems she fixed, you would never know it.
